Director of Career Connected Learning Stockton
At KIPP Public Schools Northern California we are committed to empowering studentsespecially those from historically underserved communitieswith the academic technical and leadership skills necessary to thrive in college career and life. We are seeking a Director of Career Connected Learning to join our founding team. The Director of Career Connected Learning will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic identity and future readiness of our students by designing innovative career pathways and establishing dual enrollment opportunities with local colleges and universities.
This role will focus on designing and launching innovative career pathways dual enrollment programming and advisory curriculum that help students explore identify and prepare for postsecondary pathways including college and career. You will be the lead architect of our careerconnected learning strategy working in close collaboration with external partners school leaders teachers students and families to create and implement meaningful realworld learning experiences.
The ideal candidate for this role has a deep passion for social justice and educational equity for all children has significant experience working in/with schools and/or districts to design and implement careerconnected learning opportunities for students and is skilled at highquality project design and project management. Additionally this candidate must be competent at building and leveraging relationships with school CBO and business partners and in coaching for project success as well as outstanding written and verbal communication skills. This person is drawn to working with teams of community school teacher and student leaders to design and implement careerconnected learning. They must have a demonstrated interest in serving students from historically marginalized communities that have been systematically underserved and be dedicated to doing whatever it takes to support our students to identify their careers of highest aspiration aligned to their own passions and interests.

Education:
Experience
Passion for and commitment to KIPPs mission and values
3 years of fulltime experience in education or a related field with a proven track record of designing and implementing careerconnected learning in the TK12 ecosystem
Understanding of concurrent enrollment systems experience instructing or supporting Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in California and/or developing Individual Career and Academic Plans and providing career advising to students
Experience working across organizations to build relationships and partnerships develop collaborative work products and take responsibility for the outcomes
Track record of success partnering with community based organizations and Career Technical Education programs
Familiarity with Apprenticeship programs CTE programs and Military pathways
Experience managing projects and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge/skills required:
Commitment to working with educationally underserved students and demonstrated sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds of student populations
Strong working knowledge of student database systems and using data to drive decision making
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with a widerange of people including external partners teachers counselors parents students and administration teams
Positivity optimism and a solutionsoriented mindset
Ability to selfdirect and prioritize among competing goals and to initiate process improvements
Goaloriented with strong initiative and creative problemsolving skills

Strong working knowledge in all Microsoft Office programs (Word Excel PowerPoint) and Google Suite
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Student support
Design a schoolwide advisory framework that is centered around the schools mission for 912 grade that incorporates college readiness career exploration and life skills into the advisory curriculum
Develop gradelevel benchmarks for advisory topics such as goal setting academic planning SEL resume building financial literacy and postsecondary planning
Provide professional development and coaching for advisory teachers/facilitator
Provide advising and coaching services focused on career exploration and progressive pathway programs based on student needs connecting them to handson opportunities that will support them to make a strong postsecondary matriculation decision
Guide students and families through the pathway selection and dual enrollment process through workshops counseling and ongoing communication
Track and analyze student data career interests desired postsecondary pathway financial aid internships etc. using the match data platforms
Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to proactively track and report on program outcomes identify areas of success as needed to respond to those areas that need improvement
- Classroom Instruction
- (Year 1 2526) Teach a College & Career Readiness Seminar to each cohort totaling 5 hours of Classroom Instruction per week
- (Year 2 2627) Teach a College & Career Readiness Seminar to each cohort totaling 10 hours of Classroom Instruction per week
Physical Mental and Environmental Demands
Physical: Ability to navigate office and school campuses and hold meetings in different spaces. Traditionally much of the day involves sitting. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 120 lbs.
Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives work with interruptions concentrate for long periods of time read calculate perform routine math problems memorize and recall objects and people.
Environmental: Office environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. KIPP adheres to health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC CDE and public health agencies recommendations.
Classification
Fulltime exempt position. This is a campus based role.

We benchmark annually against school districts and charter schools in the regions where we operate to offer competitive salaries. The starting salary range for this position will be between $99000 $121696.
