Were currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Smyrna TN.

Job Summary

Manages or supervises a group of multicraft skilled maintenance team members. Maintains and repairs production equipment tooling and facility systems in the assigned area. Plans and schedules maintenance work related to corrective maintenance preventative maintenance work order requests equipment installation and projectrelated work. Facilitates all work group activities to meet established quality standards and the objectives of cost delivery and safety. Interfaces with the section manager to coordinate daily and weekly activities and set priorities. Conducts highlevel decisionmaking during equipment downtime events in order to coordinate troubleshooting efforts. Prepares instructional presentations and breakdown presentations to share knowledge and to improve department programs.

Contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.

Job Functions

  • Maintains a maintenance log of preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Assigns jobs and schedules work as required to maintain this completion level of preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Order any materials required to complete repairs to machinery.
  • Review monthly nonproduction stores purchases tag equipment repair items and track scrap costs.
  • Returns unused items to nonproduction stores. Addresses long and short term quality concerns and then provides feedback to production engineering and quality control.
  • Ensures team members operate in a safe and efficient manner and that all safety guidelines and rules are followed.
  • Facilitates the implementation of action to improve safety performance.
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing safety concerns before an accident occurs. Tracks and plans corrective action on equipment downtime issues.
  • Determines methods to meet and improve equipment uptime goals. Schedules team members for technical and powered equipment training. Provides ISO9001 international manufacturing quality standards and ISO14000 environmental standards training.
  • Maintains all related training documentation. Helps in the planning and installation of new equipment working with engineering and outside vendors.
  • Helps to set up parts associated with the new equipment. Manages the implementation of equipment or engineering changes to enhance the performance reliability and predictability of equipment or processes. This includes management of hardware software and documentation of changes as required to complete the modifications.
  • Tracks and maintains employee records related to attendance performance overtime safety mobile equipment licensing and training. Keeps team members updated on all policies and procedures applicable to them.

Management Accountabilities:

Has nonexempt subordinates. Supervises and provides leadership coaching guidance training and staff development; interviews and selects unit employees; plans and evaluates employee performance; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates. As necessary performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

Minimum Qualifications

Job Knowledge and Skill:
Excellent communication and motivational skills. Working knowledge of maintenance practices. Fundamental understanding of industrial multicraft maintenance. Good electrical and mechanical knowledge. General knowledge of automated systems. Knowledge of ISO9000 international manufacturing quality standards and ISO14001 environmental standards requirements for equipment maintenance and calibration. Good written and oral communication skills. Prefer candidates with knowledge of PLC programming robotics fluid power control and mechanical fundamentals.


Experience:
Three to five years of related experience at a professional level.

Supervisory Experience:
Two to five years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors. This includes training new employees assigning work and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most time in work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates.

Education:
One or two years of posthigh school education. Consider equivalent related college or technical courses seminars and inhouse classroom training.

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools other PC applications and mainframe applications to produce nonstandard creative products.

Other:
The preferred candidate possesses the experience and knowledge required to support continuous improvement activities within a maintenance department. The activities will lead to a highly effective efficient maintenance team.

Physical Requirements

Travel:
Infrequent day and overnight travel.
