Position Summary
This position provides mental health services to students referred to or requesting assistance from the Student Counseling Center and to the campus at large. This person is expected to perform under minimal supervision due to specialized training and experience and will be trusted to make sound clinical decisions in the best interests of students and the college. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of the Student Counseling Center and performance is based upon management of clinical caseload satisfaction of students served and collaboration with colleagues and other campus stakeholders. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the College Policies & Procedures.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye.
Required Qualifications
Masters or doctoral degree in Counseling Social Work Marriage and Family Counseling or Psychology. Three years of providing mental health service preferably in a collegiate setting (Inclusive of practicum and internship training).
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral level therapist preferred. Valid license to practice counseling or psychology in the state of Georgia.
