Position Objective
The Production Supervisor III provides daily supervision of employees engaged in the manufacturing of Sparton products. Coordinates the activities within the manufacturing environment to ensure that delivery cost and quality goals are met and/or exceeded. Champion continuous improvement activities such as Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen within manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve departmental goals including budget management and resource allocation.
- Provides direct supervision to manufacturing employees by initiating coordinating and enforcing program operational and personnel policies and procedures with focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensures a safe work environment for all employees with an emphasis on safety programs to create accidentfree work areas.
- Plans assigns and adjusts work priorities to meet daily weekly monthly customer sales order requirements.
- Monitors and manages employee job performance such as safety attendance quality and productivity by providing training feedback 1:1s data and reporting.
- Prepares reports and makes presentations as required holds and attends meetings including shift pass downs hourly production and others as necessary.
- Problem solving expert knowledge of managing resources processes equipment and planning.
- Mentors team members employees peers and others to improve dynamics performance and outlook.
- Monitor lineprocessing procedures to and from Configuration Management Office (CMO) manage the process output/ quality indicators and report out.
- Leads encourages and participates in continuous improvement activities such Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen events.
- Provides coverage for the Shift Manager/ Production Manager for shift operations and coordination as needed
- Primary interface with all support functions such as quality engineering materials and production control for their functional area and responsibilities.
Safety
Ensures all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal State Provincial and Company safety and health regulations and where applicable proper personal protective equipment is utilized.
Required Education and Experience
- 2year degree from an accredited university OR a combination of education and relevant experience bachelors degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment supervising and leading teams.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment
- Excellent people skills: ability to motivate manage and engage people
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel PowerPoint and Teams
- U.S. Citizenship is required

- Inventory Management
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt/ Green Belt or similar certifications
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
