What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The full salary range for this position is $58656 $96782 with a budgeted hiring range of $62000 $70000. We also offer generous benefits for fulltime employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed at a job site several days a week and offsite as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their offsite days.
In this position you can expect to work out of the Denver Human Services Castro location and the Denver Human Services East location during inoffice days.

What Youll Do
About Protection & Prevention
Denver Human Services works to protect Denvers children youth adults and elders by providing services and advocacy while promoting family stability respecting diversity and working to create and strengthen connections to community resources. We work to prevent abuse by providing education resources and support to parents families and community organizations.
Denver Human Services is currently seeking a topnotch highly dedicated Social Case Worker to join the Family Time Program within the Child Welfare Services Division. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling supervised Family Time between children who are in outofhome care and their parents/caregivers.
Additionally the Family Time Program Social Case Worker:
- Provides ongoing assessment describing the strengths challenges and progress observed in the parentchild interaction during supervised Family Time makes recommendations based on those assessments and offers court testimony to their observations
- Provides a variety of services including transportation icebreakers between parents and placements attending Family Team Meetings court hearings and professional staffings and providing support to families through preparation and debriefing in conjunction with their Family Time
- Reviews the familys history and partners with the family to incorporate their culture and identities in Family Time including the identification of kin or other supports who could provide supervision for Family Time if possible
- Delivers handson parent coaching interventions with parents/caregivers to build their parenting skills and support reunification
- Effectively partner with families department staff and external stakeholders to support families as they work towards reunification

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience skills and characteristics:
- Experience in providing family engagement services
- At least one year of Child Welfare Case Work Experience
- Certification from the Colorado Child Welfare Academy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Superior critical thinking and problemsolving skills
- The ability to work independently with integrity and reliability
- The ability to have a flexible schedule that includes some evening work hours
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education requirement: Requirements as set forth in Colorado Department of Human Services Volume 7 and/or Volume 30 regulations. A bachelors degree from a higher education institution related to the job responsibilities of child welfare social caseworker. Course work examples can include and are not limited to the development of human behavior child development family intervention techniques diagnostic measures counseling psychology or therapeutic techniques
- Experience Requirement: Professional internship or volunteer work experience in a human services related agency as required by Colorado Department of Human Services Volume 7 and/or Volume 30 regulations
- Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements
- Licensure: Requires a valid Drivers License at the time of application. Requires posthire completion of certification requirements to be a social case worker in Child Welfare or Adult Protective Services in accordance with CDHS regulations. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
