Our Summer Camp Team is seeking multiple fulltime temporary Camp Leaders (Summer Camp Leaders) (8 weeks). The summer Camp Group Leader will work in child youth and community development with children and youth living in the Regent Park St. Jamestown Moss Park and Cabbagetown neighbourhoods.

- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate plan inspire supervise and facilitate children and youth at day camp
- Provide leadership for indoor and outdoor sports arts & crafts projects tech projects field trips teaching cooking and other organized activities over an 8week period
- Encourage camp participants to build stronger relationships develop leadership skills overcome social barriers and foster recognition that they have the capacity to improve their own communities
- Assist in integrating children with special needs into camp programs
- Participate in the planning and implementing of a community event and other special events
- Attend to other duties as required by the Summer Camp
Qualifications:
- Minimum completion of grade 11
- Dynamic and enthusiastic with a passion for and knowledge of children and youth from under resourced areas with experience in a multicultural multifaith setting
- Previous camp facilitating experience (ie. group leader is an asset)
- Leadership skills communication skills and ability to motivate children and youth in a high energy environment
- Team builders flexible resilient with a teachable spirit
- Media and Tech competency (ie. video / music editing animation and coding) is essential
- Creative thinking and skill to help develop and plan tech projects for children
- Patient positive hardworking attitude and demonstrated recreational & artistic skills
