The Pierce County Sheriffs Corrections Bureau has over 281 corrections deputies who maintain the safety of the community by supervising approximately 1100 inmates in two facilities as well as providing for the movement between the Pierce County Corrections Detention Center and the courts. When fully staffed the Correctional Technician team includes four employees who currently work day or swing shift with paid holidays off. There are opportunities for overtime and employees wear Correctional Technician uniforms.

Correctional Technicians are responsible for providing assistance to jail operations in the areas of inmate laundry and supply warehouse. Correctional Technicians oversee inmates performing assigned duties and interact with inmates and correctional staff on a regular basis.
