Job Summary
Monitors and directs the operation of Vistras generation resources as efficiently and economically as possible in accordance with guidelines to meet real time market requirements.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Interacts daily with both the DA and Cash traders on strategy implementation
- Anticipates and responds to changing system conditions for balancing energy deployments to effectively and economically dispatch fleet
- Recognizes changing market conditions and initiates appropriate action within own area of focus to balance fleet position
- Optimize gas burn strategies across ISONE and NYISO markets by aligning unit dispatch with realtime fuel economics pipeline constraints and market conditions.
- Coordinate closely with the Gas Supply team to align nominations manage intraday flow changes and ensure compliance with contractual limits.
- Respond to OFO (Operational Flow Order) gas restrictions minimizing exposure to imbalances and avoiding noncompliance penalties.
- Maintain clear timely communication with Plant Operations and Gas Logistics to ensure reliable fuel availability and operational flexibility.
- Assess risk exposure tied to gas limitations balancing market opportunity with fuel security under highdemand or constrained system conditions.
- Operate effectively in highpressure environments especially during peak demand fuel disruptions or reliability event declarations.
- Contribute to the enhancement of gaselectric coordination tools and processes improving both commercial and operational outcomes.
Education Experience & Skill Requirements
- 4 years of physical powerplant operations dispatch experience or financial operations
- 35 years of Commercial experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills
Key Metrics
- Specific Market Portal experience
- Proficient in Microsoft excel
- 12hour shift schedule which includes days nights weekends and holidays
