Position Summary:
Performs a variety of waived moderately complex and highly complex tests on patients of all ages as defined by CMS2226F: 42 CFR 493 Medicare Medicaid and CLIA programs Interpretive Guidelines for Laboratories Appendix C and Subpart M. Applies principles theories and techniques according to Laboratory Practices and Procedures to produce accurate test results in Blood Bank Chemistry Hematology and Microbiology

Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Bachelors degree in medical technology or chemical physical or biological science and graduate of an NAACLS approved laboratory training program as applicable to the position. May also qualify under route 2 3 or 4 of the ACSP Board of Certification. Must be registered as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology or eligible to sit for the MLS certification exam. Successful completion of certification exam within 12 months of employment. Those who were certified after January 1 2004 must renew their certification every three years by participating in and successfully completing the Certification Maintenance.
Preferred: Two years of experience as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (ACSP) cm in a clinical Laboratory setting
