Job Description
THE POSITION
Do you have experience working with atrisk youth and want to have a positive impact on their lives and those you work with every day The Department of Human Services (DHS)Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services (BJJS) is seeking a hardworking enthusiastic compassionate and caring manager who is committed to providing services that directly affect the lives of courtadjudicated youth. As a Youth Development Counselor Manager you will plan organize and direct residential care and treatment as well as the social development and rehabilitation programs for adjudicated youth housed at the facility. You will oversee a safe secure clean and comfortable environment in accordance with institutional and DHS policies and regulations. You will direct two treatment units through the supervision of two YDC supervisors developing goals and objectives reviewing and evaluating work in order to ensure the planning and coordination of overall programming supervision cost efficiency and treatment undertaken in the units; and that quality childcare services are provided.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel: As needed
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- You must be willing to accept employment at Southeast Youth Development Center Montgomery County and commute to this facility.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $75678.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Youth Development Counselor Supervisor(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of professional counseling experience with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program one of which was supervisory and a bachelors degree in the behavioral sciences special education juvenile justice or criminal justice; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of professional counseling experience one of which was supervisory with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
