Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of St. Jude Regional Catholic School (SJRCS).
Provide direct math instruction to students in grades 35 including enrichment and intervention groups. These classes will be split into leveled instructional groups.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to coplan lessons develop instructional strategies and provide support for differentiated math instruction.
Use assessment data to monitor student progress identify learning gaps and adjust instruction accordingly.
Collaborate with the resource team to support students with learning differences ensuring accommodations are implemented appropriately.
Provide professional development modeling and coaching in math instruction for faculty as needed.
Assist in the selection and implementation of math curriculum and instructional resources.
Administer and analyze standardized math assessments in accordance with Archdiocese of Washington (ADW) guidelines. Collaborate with teachers to evaluate MAP data and implement strategies to raise test scores and target needed interventions.
Maintain accurate records of student progress interventions and assessments.
Attend team meetings faculty meetings and schoolwide events contributing to a collaborative and supportive school culture.
Ability to conference with parents upon request.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and strategies for supporting learning at home. Communicate any behavioral or social concerns to parents.
Skills Required:
Deep understanding of mathematical content pedagogy and child development for grades 35.
Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners including differentiation and intervention.
Experience using data to inform instruction and track student growth.
Ability to collaborate with faculty and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Familiarity with Catholic school settings and a commitment to faithbased education.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Education Mathematics or a related field.
At least 12 hours in education courses; valid MSDE teaching certificate preferred or willingness to obtain certification within three years of hire.
Prior teaching experience in elementary grades preferably with a focus on math instruction.
