Job Description
As a Category Manager with the Marketing Strategic Sourcing team youll optimize the total cost of ownership and increase total value of our spend on products and services. Youll develop category and sourcing strategies sourcing execution negotiations contracting activities and relationship management across a subset of marketing subcategories. This position will provide consistent exposure to Best Buy executives large strategic suppliers and highly complex agreements.
This role is hybrid which means you will work some days at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another nonBest Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What youll do
- Participate in the development of category goals and deliver against set objectives.
- Create endtoend efficiencies and value proposition across multiple stakeholders business objectives and suppliers.
- Lead business partners in defining requirements for their needs.
- Negotiate and execute contracts in line with Best Buy policies and act as an escalation point for direct reports.
- Leverage and influence relationships to gain input and/or buyin for critical business decisions and category strategies.
- Set clear personal goals for self and direct reports if applicable as a key part of managing performance to drive business outcomes.
- Develop Stakeholder management plan and proactively partner with all relevant teams.
- 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience
- 1 year of creative media or production marketing experience
- Bachelors or MBA degrees
- 1 year of supervisory leadership experience
- 2 years of agency management or agency experience
- 2 years of creative media or production marketing sourcing experience
- 2 years of experience in traditional procurement category management etc.
- Possess natural curiosity asking questions when necessary to understand a problem
- Ability to create and execute a strategic vision
