High school social studies and mild/moderate needs special education teaching position 912 grades
Job Summary:
Middle Park High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Develop lesson plans aligned to state standards preparing and delivering lessons creating and supervising activities.
Establish and communicate clear outcomes for all lessons classwork and projects.
Support the program of study using a variety of instructional techniques instructional media and technology.
Adapt and/or modify activities/curriculums to engage and teach each student despite their challenges (physical academic emotional).
Serve on a school team: work with administration therapists and the classroom staff to facilitate a school program that allows students to meet IEP goals and developmental milestones.
Facilitate the development of selfregulation the ability to sustain engagement positive attitudes and a sense of self healthy social relationships increasing levels of independence and emotional wellbeing within each student.
Help to lead the paraprofessionals to facilitate a classroom team in a collaborative respectful manner that supports the learning and professional goals of each staff member
Maintain positive relationships with all parents care providers students other staff members administrative staff and community members.
Teach high school students the necessary skills that will provide a solid foundation for an active positive healthy and independent adulthood. This includes promoting the development of positive behaviors/selfregulation functional academic skills life skills and social skills
Implement IEPs complete and edit Progress Reports develop and/or complete assessments and other documents as assigned. Coordinate with Special Service Providers to ensure all parts of documents are complete.
Develop effective classroom management and organizational systems when needed and ensure maintenance of these systems
Ensure progress monitoring is regularly completed on student IEP goals
Meet with and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students parents staff and community members.
Participate in school initiatives and campus events
Qualifications:
Appropriate Colorado teaching license with a special education endorsement. Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as effective time management and organizational skills are necessary.
Working Environment:
Middle Park High School is located in Granby Colorado 90 miles NW of Denver and 20 miles from the Winter Park Ski area. School is in session MondayThursday from 8:004:18. MPHS has approximately 400 students in grades 912 and serves the communities of Winter Park Fraser Tabernash Granby Grand Lake Hot Sulphur Springs and beyond.
