Description

Role: Young Persons Practitioner

Salary: 25000 per annum

Location: This is a Remote role but you will be expected to travel Birmingham city to conduct young Carers assessments and to support the young people on a onetoone basis.

Contract/Hours:Permanent Fulltime 37 hrs. per week 95pm Predominantly Monday Friday but with an expectation to work occasional evenings and weekends.

A bit about the role

Action for Children deliver Young Careers in carers have a caring responsibility for a parent sibling or family member. As a Young Persons Practitioner you will offer group support face to face and digitally youth group sessions training holidays activities and 1:1 support to children young people and families. We work with children and young people from the ages of 5 to 18.

We support children young people and families on a 1:1 basis or groupwork in schools in their homes or in the community and offer them additional training so that they are able to manage daily tasks more effectively at home.

During the holidays we offer fun activities for children and young people. We also offer family events where parents and carers can meet each other and share their experiences.

We provide signposting advice to all families so that they feel empowered to seek local support in their communities.

How youll help to create a brighter future.

  • Providing a highquality service to children young people and their families based on an assessment of need and is outcomes driven.
  • Delivering a complex and specialist interventions with children young people or families on a 1:1 basis group or community setting.
  • Providing lead case/care planning management including undertaking assessing reviewing and managing risks
  • Attending and participating at relevant multi agency meetings.
  • Taking responsibility for daytoday resource planning to ensure high quality services are delivered.
  • Establishing and developing effective relationships and channels of communication with children young people families colleagues community organisations partner agencies and other external agencies.
  • Retaining accurate and contemporaneous records using various IT systems to capture information and to produce written reports and present these as necessary.
  • Reviewing and evaluating service provision with others ensuring continued improvements are made.
  • Ensuring a safe and positive work and service environment is achieved through compliance with all safeguarding safer recruitment health and safety policy and procedure.

In the role of Young Persons Practitioner were ideally looking for someone who has:

  • NVQ3 or equivalent in youth work working with families childcare or another relevant field.
  • Experience of delivering group work programmes.
  • Experience of working with children and young people aged 519.
  • A commitment to supporting young peoples mental health.
  • You will receive full training to deliver our programmes.
  • Access to a car (desirable) for travel across the Birmingham area.
