Bank Director of Compliance

REPORTS TO: Chief Compliance Officer
SUPERVISES: 3 4 including BSA Officer and compliance staff
COMPANY:
Locally owned communityfocused bank based in Tennessee with multiple branches is seeking an experienced Director of Compliance to lead and strengthen our regulatory compliance program and offering the resources of a wellestablished privately held bank with the agility and culture of a closeknit team. BASIC FUNCTION:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for development and implementation of strategic direction for the Banks compliance program
- Research and develop appropriate policies and procedures for assigned projects and topics
- Oversee internal controls and auditing systems to ensure compliance in all areas of the Bank
- Assist Chief Compliance Officer with internal audit and regulatory requests
- Assist with the research and review of internal requests for compliance guidance
- Maintain a riskbased proactive compliance management system (CMS)
- Analyze new regulations to assist in the implementation of appropriate changes to the compliance strategy and process
- Develop technical skills of team members
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING:
- Knowledge of compliance related laws and regulations for lending and deposits
- Knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC related laws and regulations
- Specific knowledge of TRID and other laws and regulations related to consumer residential real estate lending
- Ability to research and interpret regulatory requirements
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to write process and procedures to implement policy
- Strong communication skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- Seniorlevel regulatory compliance experience
- Experience in loan compliance at a bank credit union or mortgage company is required.
- Specialized training and/or certification in financial institution consumer regulatory compliance is preferred.
- Five or more years of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of and adhere to all state and federal regulations that pertain to this position including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act Consumer Privacy and Fair Lending.
- Working knowledge of state and federal regulations including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act Consumer Privacy and Fair Lending along with industry best practices that pertain to this position.
