Summary:
The Deputy Title IX and Equal Opportunity Coordinator for Student Affairs is responsible for conducting Civil Rights and Title IX investigations involving students and for contributing to training on issues related to Title IX sexual and genderbased misconduct (SGBM) civil rights and the lived experiences of various groups including BIPOC and LGBTQIA populations. The Equal Opportunity and Title IX Deputy Coordinator must be able to work independently but will be supported and supervised by the Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX.
The Deputy Coordinator will work closely with various campus constituencies including Student Affairs Campus Safety and Human Resources among others. The Deputy Coordinator will also have access to senior leadership including the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students and the General Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources to ensure compliance and best practices with training education communication and the administration of grievance procedures involving students staff and faculty.
The Deputy Coordinator is expected to maintain a consistent practice of selfcare and stay updated and knowledgeable in the areas of Title IX Title VII Title VI Section 504 New York State civil rights and Enough is Enough laws diversity equity inclusion access and belonging and includes the following responsibilities among others:
The Equal Opportunity and Title IX Deputy Coordinator should possess a record of high integrity and demonstrated success. Skills working with different constituency groups (students faculty staff parents alumni external parties such as law enforcement investigators and communitybased organizations) are vital to managing the complexity of the role. The Title IX Deputy Coordinator will develop partnerships with campus and community groups such as the Advisory Council on SGBM and local external agencies. The Deputy Coordinator will develop strong working relationships with students faculty and staff members to assist in our efforts for prevention education and maintaining a positive campus climate. The ability to prepare investigation reports and maintain accurate records are critical skills necessary to compliance and campus procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Masters Degree or JD required
Experience: 13 years of Title IX civil rights or comparable investigative experience required; one year working in higher education administration is preferred.
Salary range: $63500 $75000
