The Electrical System Development Engineer will contribute to the design and development of Low Voltage systems. You will be the single point of contact for anything related to low voltage system requirement. You will work closely with the low voltage component suppliers both internally and externally to characterize low voltage components. You will be part of a cross functional team and play an active role for low voltage system DFMEA and functional safety studies. You will work very closely with the rest of the low voltage system organization to support the launch of nextgeneration vehicle platform architectures for electric vehicles.



Responsibilities
  • Work with cross functional teams to develop Low Voltage (LV) system requirement
  • Responsible for maintaining and releasing the LV system requirement document according to Ford Motor Companys internal release process
  • Work with low voltage component suppliers to characterize LV components
  • Participate in the design and development of LV systems ensuring they meet functional and performance requirements
  • Play an active role in LV system DFMEA and functional safety studies
  • Work with internal customers to polish LV system requirement and communicate that to internal customers as well as suppliers
  • Follow Ford Motor Companys internal release process to release LV system requirement documentations
  • Collaborate closely with LV system integration and validation engineers to develop LV systems
  • Stay up to date with latest advancements in low voltage system technologies and standards including but not limited to IEC ISO etc.


Qualifications
  • B.S in Electrical Computer or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in automotive component and system release process
  • Strong knowledge of electric vehicles electrical system architecture
  • Prior experience with low voltage system and/or component development
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An eagerness to work crossfunctionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • 5 years of prior experience with low voltage system development
  • 2 years of electrical HW design and/or system design experience
  • Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)

This position is a salary grade 8.
