To meet the needs of students with complex learning and developmental needs Lewiston Schools has established a multidisciplinary intensive education program designed to support students with individualized programming while encouraging them to benefit from their peers and offer access to naturalistic teaching role is part of a highly supported team building on a strong programmatic structure for all classrooms with opportunities to individualize and innovate. The CNA/Med Tech BHP will support the special educator and team of BHPs by communicating with healthcare providers regarding student medical plans dispensing medication monitoring symptoms of illnesses and/or injuries as they arise. This role offers opportunity for leadership and collaboration across disciplines in order to best support Pay/Salary Range: $26.54 33.19 per hourESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned (see program handbook)Communicate with outside healthcare providers and implement student medical care student and support students with feeding and support students in activities of daily living and self support to the program in times of staffing need including:Implementation of individualized lesson plans Positive Behavior Support Plans and/or Individualized Crisis Behavior Management individualized and group data across the school and teach students using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) across the school services in the program by nature require a staffs constant attention. This includes but is not limited to:Following precautions set forth in PBSP and by BCBA/Clinician directionKeeping calm in unforeseen circumstances being thoughtful of variables that may or may not maintain challenging mindful of clothing choice worn on a daily basis (i.e. employees must wearclosedtoe shoes).Refraining from cell phone use except during personal to attend the Professional Development sessions on Wednesdays after the scheduled OF YEAR & SCHEDULE:This is a full time role working a programspecific calendar aligned to Lewiston Public Schools academic year with 6 weeks of full time summer services as well as additional summer professional learning teamwork starts with professional communication skills that facilitate a safe and structured environment for students and communicationAny written communication should be legible professional and with the best interest of students in communicationFeedback may be delivered in many different methods during the day. Feedback should always be intended as a tool to improve ones skill and/or increase job and Recommendations given by Special Education Teacher BCBA Clinician and school administration should be followed through with to the greatest extent between Ed.
