Job Description

Department Overview

The Adult Ambulatory Oncology Clinic at OHSU Center for Health and Healing Building 2 (CHH2) serves patients within Medical Oncology Hematologic Malignancies Cellular Therapy Gynecologic Oncology Palliative Care and Classical Hematology. We collaborate with Radiation Oncology Surgical Oncology Infusion services Dietitians Pharmacy Social Work Case Management and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team to provide exceptional oncology care for our patients and community.

Patient Populations:

  • Hematologic Malignancies: Leukemia Lymphoma Myeloma Allogeneic/ Autologous Transplant CART TIL DLI etc.
  • Medical Oncology: Sarcoma Head and Neck Breast Lung GI/GU Prostate etc.
  • Classical Hematology: Bleeding disorders clotting disorders anemias white blood cell disorders platelet disorders.
  • Other: Our infusion unit serves a variety of populations requiring interventional treatments only available at the CHH2 Ambulatory Oncology Outpatient Infusion Unit.

This position is not eligible for hybrid work.

Function/Duties of Position

The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate evidencebased and efficient care to individuals families communities and patient populations. The Clinical RNs care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist leader and knowledge transferor Onsomble Model of the Professional Role. Professional accountability enriches the Clinical RNs engagement as a leader in promoting an interprofessional culture of collaborative decisionmaking innovation lifelong learning and teamwork. The Clinical RN exemplifies the principles of a Culture of Safety by committing to a Just Culture a Reporting Culture a Learning Culture and an Engaged Informed Culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of Hematology Oncology nursing experience within the past five years
  • The RN must meet one oncology provider qualification:

    1. ONS Chemotherapy/ Biotherapy provider card upon hire.
    2. Oregon Health and Science University NCI Collaborative Systemic Cancer Therapies for the Oncology Nurse course.
    3. Oregon Health and Science University NCI Collaborative 2year renewal course.

    The RN must hold one Professional certification or meet Commission on Cancer education requirements:

    1. Current cancerspecific certification in the nurses specialty (OCN BMTCN etc.) by an accredited certification program.
    2. Completion of 36 cancerrelated continuing education nursing contact hours each accreditation cycle per Commission on Cancer requirements.
