Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Echocardiography Tech student is responsible for preparing the diagnostic room gathering patient and case specific supplies and equipment per the Registered Echo tech instructions. They will operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to provide basic imaging studies under the direction of the Registered Echo tech according to established policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient and communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patients level of understanding.

Licensing/Certification

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
