Job Description

The Community Counseling Center (CCC) of Azusa Pacific University (APU) is a multidisciplinary outpatient mental health clinic providing a variety of services to children families and adults who may be experiencing mental health challenges including anxiety depression bipolar disorder trauma and other stressorrelated disorders as well as other clinical syndromes or conditions. The CCC provides mental health services (psychotherapy and psychological assessment) to members of the community as well as services to some students at Azusa Pacific University. The clinic is a training facility staffed by supervised graduate students representing various disciplines including Clinical Psychology Marriage and Family Therapy Counseling Psychology and Social Work as well as faculty/staff affiliated with APU. The CCC provides the local and surrounding communities a comprehensive range of services for the prevention intervention diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. Services may be rendered at the clinic or in multiple settings in the field (e.g. at local school districts community agencies or other city locations etc.).

The Director of the CCC is responsible for managing the overall operations of the clinic including managing the budget and securing additional funding through outreach contracts grants etc. In addition to providing oversight to the clinic and leadership to the staff and student trainees at the clinic the Director will liaise with other units across the university will work cooperatively with the faculty and staff of the programs whose students train in the clinic and will foster and build relationships with community partners.

Required Education

  • Masters degree required Ph.D./ Psy.D preferred.
  • Licensed Psy.D. L.M.F.T. or L.C.S.W.

Required Experience

  • Five years of clinical experience three of which include the provision of supervision in a mental health treatment setting.
  • Management experience in a community mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with evidencebased practice and provision of clinical supervision.
  • Experience with program development.
  • Experience overseeing and writing grants.
  • Ability to grow the clinic by obtaining new contracts MOUs and grants.
  • A bilingual (Spanishspeaking) candidate is preferred.

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight to the daily function of the clinic.
  • Build and maintain active relationships with community partners and facilitate strong local ties.
  • Serve as an onsite licensed professional to studenttrainees and provide crisis management as needed.
  • Supervise unlicensed professionals interns and other trainees as needed.
  • Supervise administrative staff and adjunct faculty employed as supervisors at the clinic.
  • Coordinate established clinical training programs within the clinic.
  • Develop coordinate implement and evaluate prevention and educational activities.
  • Train new employees interns/trainees in agency policy and procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Program Directors and Department Chairs communicating between the clinic and various departments.
  • Oversee and manage current grants.
  • Seek new grant options write and apply for grants to support the clinic.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Ability to stand walk and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Visual acuity to read words and numbers.
  • Sufficient hand arm and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Will be required to travel via personal vehicle or public transportation to other APU facilities community locations as needed.

Visual Demands

  • Reading writing notes and computer monitor.

Environment

  • Pleasant office comfortable temperatures.

Technologies

  • Proficient in Google Apps Microsoft Office compliance software and other sportspecific webbased and/or scouting applications.

Compensation

  • Grade 18: $98456 to $113225 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications experience and internal equity. In addition to compensation APU offers a competitivebenefits package.
