Job Description
Your Mission
Ratepay is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with a strong background in cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices including expertise in AWS automation and CI/CD pipelines. In this role you will be responsible for designing building and maintaining a scalable secure and highperforming platform that supports our software development teams in bringing services to production optimizing system performance ensuring compliance and driving operational excellence through improved observability and incident management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation of applications and infrastructure in the cloud with the usage ofIaCtooling(Terraform andTerragrunt)
- Support software engineer teams inmaintainingtheir cloudnative applications in our Cloudinfrastructure
- Managing various native services of our Cloud Provider (AWS)
- Scaling andoptimizingthe platform for performance
- Troubleshooting diagnosing and resolving issues
- Monitoring and analyzing platform performance
- Evaluating and integratingnew technologiesand tools to improve the platform
- Implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with standards
- Documenting platform architecture and processes

- Proven experience in engineering (67 years)
- Cloud Infrastructure (AWS): Handson experience managing infrastructure in AWS which is our primary platform for hosting and scaling services
- Terraform andTerragrunt: Proven ability to deploy and manage infrastructure using Terraform andTerragrunt ensuring consistent and automated provisioning
- DevOps Tooling and Practices:Proficiencywith CI/CD pipelines infrastructure as code (IaC) configuration management monitoring and logging to support reliable software delivery and operations
- Networking: Solid understanding of networking principles to manage connectivity and communication between infrastructure components
- Version Control (Git): Experience using Git for source control and collaborative development
- OpsGenie: Familiarity with incident management workflows usingOpsGenieto ensuretimelyalerting and response
Nicetohave skills:
- Programming and Scripting: Ability to write scripts or small tools to support automation andassistsoftware engineers with troubleshooting
- Linux System Administration:Fundamentals of Linux system administration for troubleshooting and recovery
- Ansible: Familiarity withthe toolfor configuring and managing legacy systems
- MessagingArchitecture andSystems: Understanding of systems like Kafka RabbitMQ or Kinesis which are central to service communication
- Virtualization and Containers: Knowledge of tools such as DockerPodman VMWare or OpenStack to manage virtual environments and containers
- Jira and Confluence experience
