Job Description

1. Title Child Care Instructor (CCI)

2. Job Goal

Work with the districts preschool child care program to prepare curriculum materials and instructional strategies for early childhood students in the district.

  1. Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma Associate or Bachelors Degree in related field
  2. School based leadership experience
  3. A minimum of six (6) months of successful child care experience
  4. Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
  5. Ability to work independently and supervise educational systems
  6. Demonstrated leadership experience in data driven decisionmaking
  7. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students staff and community
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality
  9. Evidence of ability to effectively use technology to perform duties
  10. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

  1. Performance Responsibilities
  2. Extensive knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood
  3. Ability to develop rapport with children parents and coworkers
  4. Strong leadership qualities and skills
  5. Ability to implementing a highquality age appropriate curriculum to successfully engage children and foster physical emotional cognitive and social development
  6. Strong group management skills with children
  7. Prepare implement and carry out instructional activities for assigned students
  8. Maintain control of the assigned students at all times.
  9. Exhibit the qualities of a selfstarter as part of an instructional team
  10. Perform emergency tasks as needed and directed
  11. Assist in all safety programs drills and evacuation proceedings as required
  12. Perform all duties and assignments and use materials and operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner using all safety equipment or clothing which might be reasonable to ensure the safety of self fellow employees and students
  13. Assume responsibility for and secure the district assigned keys which are assigned to you for your job use and safekeeping
  14. Listen to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and directives and respond with oral and written reports as required
  15. Maintain good personal cleanliness and dress appropriately for the position
  16. Practice good public relations techniques with students staff administration and parents demonstrating a cordial and friendly manner
  17. Practice regular and consistent attendance arriving and departing at the designated times for your position
  18. Maintain in good condition and store for safekeeping all property supplies and materials of the district
  19. Assist in keeping the district campuses clean and orderly

  1. Responsible for monitoring progress of each childs growth and development and record keeping.
  2. Prepare periodic reports and Individual Development Plans review with supervisor and parents
  3. Work with parents to promote understanding of their childs growth and development
  4. Conduct regular communication on each childs school adjustment classroom behavior and developmental progress if applicable.
  5. Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
  6. Attend meetings district activities and training as assigned

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit stand walk speak and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee may occasionally push or lift up to fifty (50) pounds such as boxes supplies etc. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and to interact with the public and other staff.

Classroom some travel to school sites meetings and professional development activities.

  • NonExempt 10 month position 186 days
  • FY 2526 Salary: $17.89
  • Placement on Classified Salary Schedule
  • 10 month position 60 day probation
  • sick/personal leave accrual(after 60 day probation)
  • Paid Holidays
  • Health Dental Vision & Life Insurance (after 60 day probation)
  • Participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS)
