Job Description

General Manager Warehouse Operations Full Time

We are searching for a site leader in one of its highvolume sites located in the Detroit Metropolitan area. This site is critical in the success of the companys future and has a high percent of the companys volume and revenue. The Company has grown 300% over the past five years and expects to continue at or above this pace through both organic and acquisitive growth. This site will be outfitted with the latest equipment and technology and will offer employees a great place to work.

About the Position:

As the Warehouse Operations General Manager you will be responsible for building and enabling a team to execute on an operating plan for this flagship location. You will be responsible for managing ongoing operations executing lean six sigma projects to drive increased performance and efficiencies making datadriven decisions and tracking metrics to ensure this facility meets monthly and annual targets. You will manage a oneshift operation with approximately 40 team members. This is an excellent opportunity to be a huge part of building something from the ground up and see immediate results in a fastpaced growth company. This position will report to the Business Line Leader Lights Collision and have plenty of corporate support.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for processing and fulfilling B2B and B2C customer orders including the remanufacturing of automotive parts
  • Ensure and manage the facility to have the proper inventory processes controls and staffing required to meet the operational plan (P&L)
  • Drive performance through identified KPIs motivating and developing team to meet and exceed business targets
  • Develop manufacturing operations system improvements utilizing Lean tools driving a culture of continuous improvement waste removal and variation reduction
  • Operate an OSHA and Company compliant facility that provides team members with a clean safe and hazardfree warehouse environment
  • Build strategic relationships with suppliers within the local market to acquire inventory
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory records and provide guidance and leadership to site personnel concerning best in class inventory management practices


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of relevant work experience including building and retaining teams managing significant operations and driving continuous improvement
  • 3 years of experience managing a P&L with proven ability to analyze KPIs and drive performance improvement
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%; however extensive travel will be required within the first 60 days as part of your comprehensive training program
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to drive decision making and see the big picture while effectively managing details
  • High degree of professional credibility including responsiveness business focus integrity acumen and ability to prioritize across competing demands
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate challenges and opportunities concisely and clearly
  • Hands on leader interested and experienced in developing team members
