Anticoagulation RN

Dubuque IA

Clinic Hours: MondayFriday 7:30AM5:00PM 2 days/week

Responsibilities

  • Perform waived laboratory tests schedule appointments and document according to established guidelines provided in the Coumadin (Warfarin) therapy guidelines.
  • Adjust medication dosage based on INR lab results
  • Assist anticoagulated patients both in office and via telephone management to assist maintaining a safe and therapeutic dosing regimen of Warfarin.
  • Work with multidisciplinaries including Home Health LongTerm Care and Skilled Care facilities.
  • Manage office responsibilities which include documentation records and patient outreach.
  • Accurately administer medications orally IM subq and IV.
  • Coordinate the transfer of patients to hospitals.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses.
High school diploma required if work is performed in a complex CLIA lab.

Experience

No previous clinical experience required beyond education requirements


License(s)/Certification(s)

BLS

Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa/Wisconsin for Registered Nurse.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to understand and apply guidelines policies and procedures.
Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
Strong computer skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
