Position Title: Costumed Character Rate of Pay: $17.00 per hour Position Purpose: Performs as a costumed character and host during the annual OC Fair and/or at marketing and public relations events to promote the annual OC Fair. Essential Functions: - Study and learn the character profile and appropriately portray that character during appearances.
- Abide by the Costume Character Code of Conduct including appropriately interacting with the public.
- Adhere to an established appearance schedule at the annual OC Fair or during scheduled media/public relations events.
- Pose for photographs with OC Fair guests.
- Serve as a costumed character host ensuring the safety of the other employees and proper interaction with OC Fair guests.
- Clean and inspect costume as instructed at the end of every shift.

- Must be naturally creative enthusiastic and animated.
- Ability to work long hours during an irregular schedule including early mornings and on weekends in all weather conditions including the ability to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair.
- Must be able to positively interact nonverbally with OC Fair guests and team members of all ages different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or languages and individuals with special needs.
- Excellent customer service and guest interaction skills necessary.
- Must be flexible in order to meet the changing demands of this fastpaced department.
- Ability to wear a confining full body character costume for up to 2030 minutes at a time.
- Must be able to properly and safely lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
Preferences - Experience with performing.
- Experience interacting with and performing in front of individuals and crowds.
