Job Description

Cleans and maintains floors and other surfaces.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

SCHEDULE:

Downtown Campus 555 N 30th St; MondayFriday 1:3010:00p

Cleans floors carpets and upholstered surfaces; performs general cleaning duties.

  • Dusts mops strips seals finishes and buffs floors; vacuums edges prespots and shampoos carpets and upholstered surfaces.

  • Operates a truckmounted unit while cleaning or restoring surfaces and upholstery; troubleshoots repair of floor care equipment as needed.

  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and showers removes marks from walls and performs general cleaning duties.

  • Identifies conditions requiring other maintenance attention including electrical problems and chipping paint and reports conditions; provides routine maintenance (e.g. replaces light bulbs).

  • Supervises and trains student workers as needed.

  • Utilizes Boys Town vehicle to transport supplies and equipment to work locations.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate in an articulate manner.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Knowledge of cleaning products and appropriate usage.

  • Ability to run necessary cleaning machines and tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Driving requirements may differ by location.

  • Possess a valid drivers license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check at nonBTNRH location required.

  • Minimum 18 years of age required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 months floor care experience is preferred.

  • Other Duties: This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position. However other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization.

  • Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS EQUIPMENT USAGE WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Position requires constant physical activity often exerting 30 to 50 pounds of force walking scrubbing bending reaching and pushing machinery.Subject to inside environmental conditions with some activities occurring outside. Occasionally subject to sufficient noise causing the worker to shout in order to be heard. Exposure to chemicals contained in cleaning solutions.
