Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in fish or wildlife management or closely related field of biological science or equivalent experience in the field of biological science AND four years experience in fish or wildlife management or a closely related field; OR Masters degree in fish or wildlife management or closely related field or equivalent experience in the field of biological science AND two years experience in fish or wildlife management or a closely related field. Other: Drivers license required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of fisheries management principles aquatic habitat conservation and enhancement fish species life histories and habitat requirements. Basic knowledge of conservation statutes regulations and orders as they relate to fisheries management. Skills in leadership and mentoring organization problem solving and critical thinking. Ability to supervise and direct the work of others set goals and objectives plan and prioritize work schedules communicate effectively and multitask. Ability to also perform technical skills and endure harsh weather conditions while performing field duties: operate boats motors scientific sampling gear (nets and electrofishing equipment).
