Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician will prepare samples for analysis according to established procedures in a clinical laboratory setting. This role will join our high performing infectious disease and/or toxicology lab testing team and the idea candidate will have the desire to work in a fastpaced highvolume environment. Work schedule options are: Tues. Sat. 8a 4:30p or 10a 6:30p
Responsibilities and Duties: - Follow and adhere to the Corporate Compliance Program.
- Monitor LIS for updates and changes needed.
- Performs testing in a safe and quality manner.
- Prepares specimens slides and solutions.
- Performs calculations and routine tests.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Stock laboratory supplies.
- Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment.
- Adheres to company quality processes as applicable.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of the results.
- Correct problems or work with a supervisor to resolve issues.
TOX Technician - Process specimens for COVID URSTI Microbiology Blood PGx
- Test biological specimens to gather information about patient conditions.
- Uses appropriate accessioning procedures.
Required Skills and Abilities: - Experienced in laboratory procedures
- Knowledge of laboratory protocols
- Detail oriented and ability to multitask
- Strong problemsolving skills
- Ability to work independently or in a teamoriented environment
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and email
Education and Experience: - Complete 60 semester hours of academic credit including biology and chemistry or associates degree
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
- OR high school diploma with 1 year of technical training program
- OR high school diploma with 2year full time experience
- Proficient in molecular techniques including nucleic acid isolation qRTPCR NGS and liquid handling systems.
- 13 years of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements: - Some safety risks when doing analysis
- Exposure to Disease or Infections on a daily basis.
- Exposure to some adverse and undesirable environmental conditions.
- Work requires prolonged standing and intense visual concentration when testing and analysis.
- Will range from sitting for extended periods of time to standing/moving throughout the area all day
- Must be able to liftup to 50 pounds.
