Job Description

Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital

We are seeking applications for an Electrician to join our Maintenace team on a permanent fulltime basis.

As the Electrician you will operate maintain diagnose and repair electrical items and services in a safe and efficient manner.

The Position

Under the direction of the Combined Facilities Manager:

  • Repairs and maintenance to the electrical distribution and communication systems switchboards final sub circuits outlets lighting motors and associated control gear.

  • Determine and implement corrective action of above as required.

  • Carry out safety checks on Hospital electrical appliances and hand tools.

  • Request purchase requisitions for all parts and repairs required.

  • Assist in the repair of other services as required.

  • Provide technical information and advice as required.

  • Be on call on a rotating basis.

  • When on call investigate all reported faults received by the Duty Hospital Coordinator or their representative.

  • When on call attend site as soon as possible and make safe or rectify all faults on any service including but not limited to plumbing electrical mechanical and building services or equipment.

You will be a licenced A grade electrical fitter and installer with substantial building service fault finding experience. This position requires you to have a current A Class Drivers Licence and be able to work after hours and rostered on call.

To succeed in this position you will be able to work in diverse areas such as plant rooms patient rooms operating suite kitchen office areas outdoors and swimming pools. An understanding of and commitment to quality improvement experience in hospital electrical installation or similar and working knowledge of Building Management Systems are highly desirable.

  • Salary: $83857 per annum plus 11.5% Superannuation

  • Permanent fulltime working 38 hours per week
