Retirement:
As a contract teacher this position will automatically be enrolled in the Teacher Retirement Fund (TRF) through the state of Indiana which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). In addition this position is eligible to enroll in a 401(a) retirement investment plan a 403(b) Match Program and a taxfree postretirement medical expense account (VEBA).

| POSITION OVERVIEW
SUMMARY: Instructs and guides students to learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature able and responsible men and women prepared to enter the workforce and continue lifelong learning through a variety of opportunities including two
and fouryear college programs apprenticeships employer training and retraining programsand the military.

Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the
students
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the

harmony with the goals establishes clear objectives for all lessons units and projects

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Work experience in heavy equipment/diesel technology industry required.
Associates bachelors degree or military experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
Must meet requirements to qualify for occupational specialist licensing. Standard teaching
licensure is not needed for this teaching position.
Valid Indiana teaching certificate can be attained through one of the following. Requirements for Workplace Specialist eligibility are as follows:
5000 hours (about 2.5 years of experience) in the last five (5) years.
4000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and demonstration of
occupational competency test.
4000 hours (about 2 years)in the past ten (10) years and evidence of occupational
licensure or occupational proficiency based on approved regional state or national
board training and evaluation.
4000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and completion of an
accredited 2year or higher degree in the specific certification area
4000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and completion of an
apprenticeship or internship program.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read analyze and interpret professional journals technical procedures
textbooks and government regulations.
Ability to write reports and general correspondence.
Ability both orally and in writing to present information effectively and respond
appropriately to questions and concerns from individuals and groups of educators
administrators parents students and the general public.
