Assistant Headteacher

We are seeking an inspirational and driven Assistant Headteacher to join the leadership team at Merstham Park School from September 2025.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the learning experience across the school ensuring highquality leadership that supports all pupils to thrive.

We are looking for an ambitious leader who can demonstrate wholeschool impact and has a strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusion.

The precise responsibilities of the role will be discussed with the successful candidate and may include:

• Supporting the development of staff in their teaching and learning
• Driving and embedding teaching and learning improvements across the school
• Supporting and leading on the development of the whole school curriculum offer including GCSE options
• Ensuring the very best outcomes for students in key stage 4 raising standards in the upper school
• Manage and lead the upper school (years 10 and 11) supporting students to achieve

• A highly experienced middle leader or currently working as an Assistant Headteacher.
• An effective and highly visible team leader.
• You will lead by example be forward thinking and set ambitious targets for both yourself and those in your team.
• An ability to influence inspire and motivate a wider team is an essential part of the role.
• You need to demonstrate the expertise to continually drive the school forward.
• You will have significant experience of leading a team most likely gained as a Head of subject Head of Year or as an existing Assistant Head.
• You will have the skills knowledge and attributes to deal with and effectively manage a varied role.
