The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and experienced financial leader to join our clients team as their Controller or potentially Chief Financial Officer. This pivotal role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the financial health and longterm sustainability of an organization with a strong community presence. You will be instrumental in guiding their financial strategy and ensuring resources are effectively managed to support their mission.
What Youll Do
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for all fiscal affairs of the organization.
- Develop implement and maintain robust accounting policies and internal controls.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets financial forecasts and longrange financial plans.
- Oversee relationships with funding agencies and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Manage key financial functions including tax filings payroll and the generation of comprehensive financial reports.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team.
- Analyze financial performance identify opportunities for improvement and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership and the board.
- Present clear and insightful financial information to the Board of Directors.
What You Bring
- 5 years extensive accounting and financial management expertise with a bachelors degree in accounting or a related field (CPA a plus).
- Prior Medicaid knowledge preferred.
- A proven track record of preparing complex financial statements and implementing strong accounting controls.
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software and financial management systems.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to understand the broader organizational context and contribute to overall strategy.
- Experience working with publicly funded organizations and navigating relevant regulations is highly valued.
- Prior experience in a nonprofit environment is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate financial information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
