Polymer Technology Systems Inc. (d/b/a PTS Diagnostics) is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer at its Whitestown Indiana location.
Job Description: Responsible for the architecture design and debugging of software used in PTS analyzers and proprietary manufacturing software. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of Quality System documentation as required for design control. Design and debug PTS analyzer software and peripherals using C on 8/16/32/64/128 bit microprocessors. Design and debug PTS manufacturing software using C# Visual Basic on Microsoft Visual platform. Responsible for software architecture development with strong focus on code reviews and discipline. Generate formal reports graphs and/or charts using Microsoft Word and Excel. Maintain proper storage and history of released software using version control system. Utilize bug tracking software.
Minimum Requirements: The position requires a Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field of study and two (2) months of experience as a Software Engineering Intern or related occupation in which the required experience or skills were gained. Foreign degree equivalent accepted. In the alternative employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineering Intern or a related occupation in which the required experience or skills were gained. The position requires two (2) months of experience with the following: designing and implementing embedded code in C programming language; reviewing and comprehending hardware specifications including data sheets and schematics; building applications in Microsoft Visual Studio in C# and Visual Basic; realtime operating systems (RTOS) use and application; and use of software development tools (compilers emulators debuggers and chip programmers). Skills can be gained concurrently or through an academic program.
