Lancashire SENDIAS is dedicated to providing exceptional support and services to children young people and families. We are committed to ensuring that every individual has access to the information advice and support they need to navigate the SEND system effectively. We are seeking a passionate and proactive SEND IAS Liaison Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role you will be the key point of contact for children young people parents and carers offering invaluable guidance and support regarding SEND processes and services. Your expertise will empower families to make informed decisions and access the resources they need.

SENDIASS is part of the National Information and Advice Support Service. We are arms length to the Local Authority and our main role is to give impartial and confidential information advice and support to parents/carers children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. We continue to adapt and develop the Service to meet the needs of our service users.

SENDIASS is a statutory service delivering a comprehensive range of information advice and support to children and young people aged 025 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and their parents in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014. The service empowers children and young people with SEND and their parents to play an active role in decisions about them/their children encouraging everyone to work together to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive information advice and support to children young people parents and carers regarding SEND.
Responsible for the SENDIASS Helpline responding to queries appropriately.
Advocate for the needs and rights of children and young people within the SEND system.
Maintain uptodate knowledge of SEND legislation policies and best practices.
Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to support.

Experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications in SEND.
