Ravinia is both North Americas longestrunning music festival and its most artistically diverse. Over 100 different events by a mix of classical rock pop jazz R&B indie and country performers make up a typical summer season on our two openair and two indoor stages. Each year the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is featured in six weeks of concerts many with Chief Conductor Marin Alsop. During the same summer months the Ravinia Steans Music Institute provides young professional classical and jazz musicians with careeradvancing training and concert settings. Offstage and yearround Ravinias Reach Teach Play education programs engage thousands of children and adultsin schools with little to no music curriculum in our Chicagoland communities and at our 36acre parkin our mission to make music equitably accessible to all.
Job Description
The Ravinia guest experience is more than the performance on stage. Our beautiful welcoming park is what makes listening to music at Ravinia truly special and were excited to open our gates to concertgoers again. Our park is our pride and keeping it clean and beautiful is essential to our success. Park Operations Department members are the hardworking heroes who keep our park looking and operating its best. From morning to night each of our employees contributes to making live music at Ravinia extraordinary.
The Grounds Crew is the team responsible for the landscaping and cleanliness of the park. Every time someone compliments the park its thanks to the Grounds Crew. Typical work hours are 7 AM 3:30 PM and weekend availability is required.
General Responsibilities:
- Daily waste hauling
- Custodial and landscaping duties
- General upkeep of the grounds and building exteriors
Qualifications:
- Willing to work in a team and follow instructions
- Be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must work outside in all weather conditions
Education and Experience:
- 35 years of landscaping or grounds experience
- Experience operating mechanical equipment (lawn mowers line trimmers chain saws etc.
Benefits and Compensation
Hourly rates are nonnegotiable. Entrylevel experience is $16.25 per hour and MidHighLevel Experience is $17.75 per hour.
Eligible for the Illinois Paid Leave plan.

- The Ravinia season runs from June through September. Applicants who are available to work the entire season will receive priority in hiring.
- This position is outdoors and in all weather conditions with prolonged periods of standing walking pushing/pulling and lifting/carrying.
