Job Description
Health & Bio Skills Teacher
East Grand Middle School
Description:
Health for all students in grades 68
BioSkills as an elective for students in grades 78
Job Summary:
East Grand Middle School is seeking a dedicated knowledgeable and passionate teacher to join our team.
The position includes teaching 6th 7th & 8th grade health in alignment with Colorado Academic
Standards using FLASH and 3Rs curriculum. This course will also include SEL skills and topics.
In addition this person will teach an elective bioskills course to include cooking job exploration and
skills money management naturalistfocused content etc. This person hired for this position will have
some discretion on what is covered in this elective course.
General responsibilities include developing lesson plans aligned to state standards preparing and
delivering lessons creating and supervising activities for students adapting instruction to meet
individual learning needs evaluating student performance maintaining classroom records meeting with
and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with students parents staff and community
members and participating in school events.
In addition a qualified candidate should:
Possess knowledge of current pedagogy
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity
and interests of the students
Establish and communicate clear outcomes for all lessons classwork and projects.
Support the program of study using a variety of instructional techniques instructional media
and technology
Serve as a model for the districts mission vision and goals
Analyze and use appropriate data to guide instruction and develop assessments
Qualifications:
Appropriate Colorado teaching license (health endorsement). Effective communication and interpersonal
skills as well as effective time management and organizational skills are necessary.
Working Environment:
East Grand Middle School is located in Granby Colorado 90 miles NW of Denver and 20 miles from the
Winter Park Ski area. School is in session Monday Thursday from 8 a.m. 4:15 p.m. EGMSS has
approximately 300 students in grades 68 and serves the communities of Winter Park Fraser Tabernash
Granby Grand Lake Hot Sulphur Springs and beyond.
