Overview
Hayward Holdings Inc. (NYSE HAYW) is the largest manufacturer of residential swimming pool equipment in the world with a significant presence in the commercial pool market that is continuously growing. Hayward designs manufactures and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps filters heating cleaners salt chlorinators automation lighting safety flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte North Carolina Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee Arizona and Rhode Island as well as Canada Spain France Australia and China. This role is based in Clemmons NC.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advanced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in leading mechanical design development and testing efforts driving innovation and ensuring the successful implementation of cuttingedge engineering solutions.
As a technical leader you will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams mentor junior engineers and contribute to the advancement of Haywards product and technology portfolio.
Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Development
- Lead the design analysis and development of mechanical systems and components to ensure optimal performance quality and costeffectiveness.
- Conduct stress thermal and fluid dynamics simulations using industrystandard software (e.g. ANSYS SolidWorks MATLAB).
- Oversee the creation of detailed technical documentation including drawings specifications test plans and reports.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards codes and regulations.
Prototyping Testing & Validation
- Drive the development and implementation of prototypes working closely with manufacturing teams to validate designs and iterate solutions.
- Develop and execute test plans analyze performance data and implement design improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical design issues identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with electrical software and manufacturing teams to define project requirements and design specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring timely delivery quality assurance and budget adherence.
- Continuously improve engineering processes and methodologies to enhance product efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- 68 years of experience in mechanical design and product development with a strong track record of successful product launches.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS Abaqus CFD).
- Deep knowledge of mechanical design principles materials science and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with product testing and validation including creating test plans and analyzing results.
- Experience with pumps valves or filters is a plus.
- Experience with injectionmolded and blowmolded plastics is a plus.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software is a plus.
Soft Skills & Additional Requirements
- Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to think critically and innovatively.
- Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. ASME ISO NSF UL).
