Frieze is the worlds leading platform for modern and contemporary art dedicated to artists galleries collectors and art lovers alike. Frieze comprises three magazines frieze Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week and five international art fairs Frieze London Frieze Masters Frieze New York Frieze Los Angeles and Frieze Seoul. In October 2021 Frieze also launched No.9 Cork Street a permanent space for visiting international galleries in the heart of Mayfair London.

Legacy art fair brands The Armory Show and EXPO Chicago were acquired by Frieze in September 2023. In October 2021 Frieze also launched No.9 Cork Street a permanent space for visiting international galleries in the heart of Mayfair London. Frieze is part of the IMG & Endeavor network.

We are looking for a Fair & Programme ManagerPlan and deliver all aspects of Programming for Frieze EMEA fairs and Fair Programming Manager will ensure that the programme is delivered in line with the Fair Directors artistic vision and the organisations values while ensuring highquality delivery within Friezes resources timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Plan and deliver all aspects of EMEA Fair Programming ensuring all projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Manage Programming budgets across all EMEA programme strands liaising and reporting regularly to the finance and fair management teams.
  • Write manage and negotiate all programming related contracts
  • Arrange transport and accommodation for all programming contributors.
  • Be a representative of Frieze inexternal meetingsand maintain relationship with key stakeholders as agreed with Director EMEA.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee the planning and the delivery of all programmes including major projects such as Frieze Sculpture Frieze Artist Award Art fund Curator Day Frieze Masters Talks Frieze Prizes & Funds.
  • Drive the agenda forward and be responsible for all meetings with internal and external programming stakeholders setting the agenda following up and tracking deliverables to advance the delivery in a timeline manner.
  • Define scope and draft contracts with all programming collaborators managing high profile conversations and negotiations with artists curators organisations funders speakers etc.
  • Liaise with Production Marketing Press Events and Content teamsto ensure crossdepartment deliverables relating to Programming to the highest standards.
  • Seek and gain signoff for all proposed programming strands from artistic resource and budget perspectives.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication of ideas and narratives behind programmes to key internal leads.
  • Arrange programming contributors accommodations travel and other onsite arrangements
  • Arrange fair passes and early access to all the participants
  • book space and equipment hire & oversee logistical set up of fair programming related events
  • Manage the internal programme evaluation process to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
  • Any other business as directed by senior management team.

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • Manage EMEA Programming budgets across all strands collating coding and filing invoices reporting regularly to the Director EMEA and finance team.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS AND STRENGTHS

  • 5 year revelant professional experience in the arts
  • A demonstrable track record of producing highquality programmes in the cultural sector
  • Experience of translating artistic plans into reality while simultaneously managing multiple budgets and timelines.
  • Proven team leadership and management skills within an organisational context.
  • Proven experience of working within complex venues and/or cultural production sites.
  • Proven experience of managing annual budgets
  • Experience of artist management and contractual negotiations.
  • Experience of working with curators artists academics.
  • High levels of articulacy communication skills and political and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proven creativethinking and problemsolving abilities.
  • The ability to engage strategically while paying keen attention to detail.
  • Calm despite the storm
  • Integrity and respect for colleagues and clients team player and exceptionally quick learner
  • Ability to work autonomously be proactive and selfmotivated are essential
  • Adapt well to a constantly changing project and environment and evolving targets and objectives

  • Occasional travel and weekend work may be required
  • Extended/unsociable hours will be required when meeting project deadlines and when on site
