Job Title: AI/ML Coop Student / Intern
Location: 1350 RenLvesque West Montral Qubec H3G 1T4
Duration: 4 months Starting September 2025
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and curious AI Coop Student to join our team and support our ongoing efforts to explore develop and integrate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) into our IT solutions. The candidate will work closely with team members to analyze use case experiment with AI tools and contribute to innovation in a real business context.
The WiSE program accelerates the development of future women leaders by providing a customized experience for participants:
Participate in a week of onboarding and integration activities starting on your first day at CGI activities include:
Business etiquette workshop
Foundations of business consulting workshops
Developing your elevator pitch workshop
Networking with peers across Canada
Exposure to leaders through interactive sessions and a 1:1 mentorship with a CGI woman leader
Obtain the ScaledAgile SAFe for Teams Certification: Technical Skills Agility (ScaledAgile)SAFe for Teams will teach you all about your role on an Agile team and how agile teams work with others as part of an agile release train. Members learn how to plan and execute work how to apply Scaled Agile Framework and Agile principles and how to continuously improve
Expand your network by participating in national and local social activities with other coops
Develop your own learning plan by leveraging our elearning platform
Participate in professional development workshops focused on soft skill development
Participate in an AI hackathon where the top team wins a grand prize
Fast track to future new grad opportunities at CGI
In order to promote collaboration and partnership with clients interns will need to be present at the office several times a week.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Assist in identifying AI/ML use cases within our organization (e.g. predictive analytics intelligent automation natural language processing).
Explore and prototype AI solutions using tools such as Python Azure/OpenAI HuggingFace Gemini CoPilot LLMs etc.
Support data preprocessing cleaning and analysis to feed models or evaluate feasibility.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (IT business analysts developers) to define AI requirements and evaluate outcomes.
Prepare documentation reports training material and presentations on AI findings and recommendations.
Stay current on AI trends tools and best practices relevant to our industry.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Currently enrolled in a Computer Science Data Science Software Engineering or related undergraduate program.
Knowledge of Python and libraries like Pandas TensorFlow or PyTorch Java.
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning NLP or computer vision.
Experience with tools like Jupyter Git or cloud services (Azure AWS etc.) is an asset.
Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Nice to Have:
Exposure to generative AI platforms (e.g. ChatGPT Copilot Gemini LangChain).
Experience working with APIs Java and web services.
Knowledge of data visualization tools (i.e. Power BI matplotlib).
