Raytheon is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Principal Specialist) to join our talented team. The qualified candidate will be responsible for evaluating operational software problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service as well as integration and verification of new baselines.
What You Will Do:
- Perform as technical subject matter expert for software products and interface with Prime customer on daily basis on mission execution
- Supports troubleshooting maintenance and documentation of software applications
- Expected to troubleshoot and isolate sources of system errors or unexpected performance
- Determines the operational feasibility of software modifications
- Work autonomously or lead teams to develop software tools to complement maintenance activities
- Performs testing integration and delivery of new software baselines
- Some team leadership duties may be required
- Ability to perform indepth analysis and assessment with an endtoend perspective of a complex system in operations
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision to support tasks
- Active and transferrable TS/SCI with polygraph U.S. government issued clearance is required prior to start date
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelors Degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
- Experience with coding software in Java C or Python
- Experience with one or more of the following scripting languages: PERL GIT Java Script TCL/TK Bash
- Experience in software development and/or software integration
- Experience leading software projects
- Experience providing support to software installs and system upgrades participating in one or more of the following roles: integration; technical working groups; factory checkouts; system tests/checkouts; installation planning and rehearsals.
- Experience with software configuration management systems
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience working in an O&M environment
- Experience with database management and utilization
- Ability to work in a structured configurationcontrolled environment primarily focused on the support and maintenance of realtime software applications on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract
- Experience working an enterprise program with team members located at multiple geographic locations
- Thorough analytical skills and ability to recommend and implement solutions to software engineering problems and issues (some of which may occur outside normal day staff hours)
- Linux/Unix GIT and SQL experience
- JIRA BitBucket and Confluence experience desired
- Security certification
- Experience with current IC or DoD operational environments and policies or supporting operational systems
- Familiarity with the request for change (RFC) process

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
