Job Description

Senior Finance Analyst

Are you an experienced financial professional with a passion for analysis and process efficiency The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a dynamic Senior Finance Analyst to join our Finance department.

As a crucial member of our team you will optimize the accuracy of financial information by performing a variety of financial activities including budgeting forecasting building financial program models for RFPs assisting Program Directors with financial planning and adjustments preparing contractually required reports research and analysis and assisting with the accounting close process.

The primary responsibilities of this role will include;

  • Researching analyzing and reporting accurate financial information to ensure contract compliance and accurate revenue recognition
  • Optimizing program performance by:
    • Assisting Program Directors
    • Performing high level quantitative analysis
    • Engaging in analysis of financial and nonfinancial data to make recommendations when results do not meet expectations;
  • Optimizing the accuracy and reliability of financial information for reporting and compliance

Work is performed reviewed and evaluated under the supervision of the Revenue & Reporting Manager. This position attends and participates in periodic finance department staff meetings and training.

Schedule: Fulltime 40 hours per week hourly paid position.

Regular business hours M F.

Location: Office is located in South Portland ME.

Opportunity to work partially remote in a hybrid schedule.

Onsite orientation is required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent and ten years of experience required. Two years of education may be substituted by four years of additional experience. All experience must be in the following areas: Accrual accounting environment grant recognition and compliance reporting developing budgets financial models forecasting and identifying budget to actual variance.
  • Experience with State DHHS budget forms Uniform Guidance and Maine MAAP regulations required.
  • A comprehensive concept of the budgeting process trend analysis and advanced Excel required.
  • Experience with MaineCare in a managed care environment required.
  • Demonstrated competency in critical thinking problemsolving and negotiation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inform explain and negotiate while maintaining working relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and identify priorities.
  • Contracts that have Rider D: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and debarment list.
  • Normal office conditions such as sitting with occasional standing walking reaching stooping bending kneeling crouching typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings but is not a primarily and essential job responsibility.
