ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are partnering with a local nonprofit to bring on a fulltime Finance Director right away. This person will provide strategic financial oversight ensure regulatory compliance and lead financial operations that support our community impact. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a valuesdriven missionfocused environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Lead the daily accounting operations and general ledger activities in coordination with the CFO.
- Oversee accurate and timely preparation of financial statements ensuring compliance with GAAP and all government/funding regulations.
- Supervise payroll functions to ensure timely accurate and compliant payroll processing.
- Support the development and monitoring of program budgets and grant allocations including required financial reporting.
- Partner with department heads to provide meaningful budgettoactual analysis helping guide financial decisionmaking.
- Lead and mentor a small but dedicated finance team fostering collaboration accountability and growth.
- Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process and ensure financial transparency.
- Continuously improve financial processes and systems recommending and implementing enhancements in partnership with leadership
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE: - Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or Business Administration (CPA a plus)
- 5 7 years of nonprofit accounting experience including government grants budgeting and fund accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP nonprofit financial standards and federal/state/local grant compliance
- Proficiency in financial software and Excel; experience with system conversions a plus
- 3 years in a supervisory or team leadership role
- A collaborative leadership style and a passion for social justice and equity
