Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION – Head of Accounting
Job Title: Head of Accounting
Location: Delhi
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Accounting to lead and manage the accounting
department. The ideal candidate will have indepth expertise in Indian GAAP and be proficient in
managing financial reporting internal controls and compliance requirements. Knowledge
of GGAP (Global GAAP) is a strong advantage. The candidate should also have extensive experience
working with accounting software such as Tally SAP or other ERP systems. This role is perfect for
a Chartered Accountant (CA) looking to take a leadership position and drive the company’s accounting
operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accounting Leadership: Lead the accounting team in the preparation of accurate and timely
financial statements ensuring compliance with Indian GAAP and applicable regulatory
requirements.
• Compliance & Regulatory Reporting: Ensure that accounting practices and financial statements
align with Indian GAAP. Oversee statutory compliance including GST and other tax filings
ensuring the organization adheres to all financial regulations.
• Global GAAP Exposure: Collaborate with international teams or regions following GGAP
ensuring proper alignment of financial practices where applicable and leveraging crossborder
accounting expertise.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present monthly quarterly and annual financial
reports to senior management providing detailed analysis of the company’s financial
performance.
• Internal Controls: Design and implement robust internal controls and accounting processes to
safeguard assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Accounting Systems Management: Oversee the use of accounting software
including Tally SAP or other ERP systems ensuring they meet the company’s financial
reporting and operational needs. Lead the implementation and optimization of these systems
where necessary.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to the company’s budgeting and forecasting process
providing insights into financial trends and aligning financial planning with organizational
objectives.

• Audit Management: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits ensuring timely
preparation of audit schedules and addressing any audit queries or findings.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of accountants fostering professional
development and ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency in all accounting functions.
• Taxation Compliance: Oversee tax filings and ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax
laws including GST TDS and other statutory filings.
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve accounting processes ensuring they
are streamlined efficient and in line with best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) with a strong background in accounting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Indian GAAP and deep understanding of the Indian accounting landscape.
• Proficiency in Tally SAP or other ERP systems for accounting and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of GGAP (Global GAAP) is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in managing endtoend accounting operations including monthly and
annual closing reconciliations and audit coordination.
• Indepth knowledge of tax laws financial regulations and compliance requirements in India.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a highperforming team.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to translate complex financial
data into actionable business insights.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in a multinational company with exposure to GGAP and global accounting practices.
• Familiarity with GST TDS and other Indian taxation rules.
• Knowledge of direct tax and indirect tax compliance.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Advanced skills in data analysis and financial Attributes:
• High degree of professionalism integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with a proactive approach to problemsolving.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with senior
management and other departments.
