Duties and Responsibilities:
- Packing organizing and relocation of the music organizations storage space including the St. Olaf Records catalog
- Packing organizing and relocation of the band and orchestra ensemble library holdings.
- Assist the ensemble librarian in the weeding out of excess or worn out musical editions of band orchestra large choral works. This is done at the discretion of the ensemble librarian as time allows.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
- Ability to pack items into moving boxes and crates safely and efficiently.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Experience with Excel/Word and Google Docs/Sheets
- Communication skills
- Ability to focus and be productive in a hightraffic work environment
- Capacity to successfully complete tasks independently.
- Ability to collaborate and interact well with staff members on large projects
- Discretion around confidential information
- Ability to prioritize and balance work responsibilities
- Ability to stay positive under stress
- Ability to read music (NOT NECESSARY but helpful)
- Ability to work independently
- Must be a current St. Olaf student planning to return in the fall. (Current firstyears sophomores or juniors.)
- This employment (15 hrs/week) begins on Wednesday May 21 2025 and continues through Wednesday September 3 2025. Shifts will be primarily scheduled MTh between 8:304:00 p.m. Please also note that you will likely be asked to take a short unpaid vacation covering one week. Dates to be coordinated with your supervisor.
- It is required that you are available to work the last three weeks of the summer (Aug 13Sep 3) as this will be the anticipated window when construction will be completed and the library needs to be put back together.
