Amazons Global Risk Management Claims team is seeking a talented attorney to support our rapidly growing and evolving corporate auto program. You will lead strategy on complex auto claims handling prelitigation disputes and resolving litigated claims with crossfunctional partners. You will help develop programs and tools that contain costs and continue successful thirdparty administrator (TPA) strategies and relationships. You will have a strong working knowledge of commercial auto insurance policies and experience with large transportation fleets. You will have experience defending both litigated and nonlitigated claims in a timeefficient and costeffective manner. You will help build processes and strategies for handling new issues that arise in a business forward way while addressing risk. Typical transactions will range from standard claims settlements to complex high dollar agreements.
Key job responsibilities Oversight of complex high value claims. Develop strategy and action plans for claims in tandem with internal/external counsel TPAs and insurance companies. Mediation attendance in conjunction with internal/external legal partners insurance companies and TPAs. Field and address business partners ongoing questions and issues through claims resolution as needed. Partner with other internal partners to innovate processes and strategies to create efficiencies.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Active membership in at least one state bar. 2 years of experience in transportation claims. Strong understanding of the litigation process.
Experience developing and implementing standards policies and programs or equivalent Strong communication skills
