Job Summary
City of Greeley is seeking an energetic responsible intern to join the growing Natural Areas & Trails (NAT) Division. In this position you will learn the insandouts of daily routines and procedures in a local open space program. You will assist NAT staff to refine a GIS mapping and data management system to track monitor and report on Division assets. This may include a variety of tasks including collecting field and site information such as amenities plants and animals recreation activity and assisting with special projects. Associated activities may include research photography report preparation public meeting participation and similar activities. Assignments will be tailored to provide the intern a variety of opportunities to utilize current knowledge and skills while also offering opportunities to acquire new skills and knowledge. A basic knowledge in botany wildlife biology land conservation or other closely related field is desired; strong interpersonal and communication skills including facetoface and in written format; the ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and traverse a variety of terrains.
This position may require some weekend and evening hours to attend/assist with events and public meetings. Intern will work with supervisor to create a flexible weekly schedule. This position is anticipated to work 30 40 hours per week. The term of the position is up to six months.
