Job Description

Based in our Melbourne CBD office the Senior People Advisor will provide support and advice to our Victoria and South Australia Construction business unit on all HR ER and Learning and Development matters.  This role will be offered on a 13month fixed term contract.

Reporting directly to the Group People Manager the key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Partner with local business leaders to develop and drive retention strategies succession planning reward/recognition talent development and other HR initiatives as appropriate.
  • Provide guidance and advice to management leaders and employees on HR matters such as resolution of employee issues and grievances performance and disciplinary issues remuneration learning and development application and interpretation of policies/practices/legislation and exits and terminations.
  • Under the guidance of the Group People Manager and Construction Manager assist with implementing strategic and operational industrial relations strategies.
  • Undertake workforce planning and resourcing planning in conjunction with the business unit senior leaders.
  • Under the guidance of the Learning & Development Manager assist with the local Learning and Development function including education training requirements leadership development and mentoring.
  • Provide advice and support to management and employees in regard to legal and government regulations affecting HR functions.
  • Under the guidance of the Group People Manager develop review and implement HR policies procedures HR systems and practices which align with and support Company or local objectives.

Qualifications :

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor looking to take the next step in their career.  The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Operational Human Resources experience at an Advisor or Officer level within a mediumlarge organisation.
  • Exposure to construction or similar industries is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative sound reasoning and decision making skills.
  • Proven ability to read analyse and interpret complex documents.
