Dreamline Mentors provide socialemotional support and mentorship to students who are struggling to meet their academic and personal goals. Each Mentor works in their assigned school (locations are in the Metro or Saint Cloud) with a cohort of 2025 students to develop meaningful relationships and motivate students to set and achieve their personal goals.
Role and Responsibilities
Mentors identify individual student needs and tailor their approach incorporating strategies for racially and ethnically diverse students. This is accomplished through mentoring tutoring classroom support expanded learning opportunities afterschool support and more.
The Dreamline Mentor is also responsible for ensuring the highest quality of program delivery at their school site through reporting accurate data building strong relationships with school staff and teachers and engaging families as needed.
Dreamline Mentors will also participate in other Sanneh Foundation programs or events as needed including monthly professional development and fundraising events. Lastly Mentors will have the opportunity to attend professional sporting events and cultural events.
Required Education & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
At least one year of fulltime work or volunteer experience
Passion for and interest in working with youth
Skills to build meaningful relationships with students and staff
Ability to work effectively with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds including race ethnicity and culture sexual orientation gender identity age language abilities/disabilities socioeconomic status etc.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity equity & inclusion work
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Comfortable with ambiguity
Motivated to work independently
Ability to work collaboratively with a team
Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Education & Qualifications
Relevant youth work experience particularly in a school or learning setting
Relevant higher education or training
Experience collecting and documenting data
Understanding of youth development frameworks traumainformed care socialemotional learning
Experience facilitating mediation or support groups
