Job Description
Amazon is seeking a candidate who is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insight that impacts business decisions to improve customer experience in the North American transportation network. Amazon transportation encompasses all of the operations that deliver shipments from our fulfillment centers and third party locations to customers worldwide. Because we strive for faster delivery to customers a successful candidate must be passionate about identifying and building solutions that will help drive a more efficient network and better customer experience. This role offers the opportunity to influence and drive a growing business area. The Business Intelligence Engineer will collaborate with diverse set of stakeholder including product managers program managers data scientists software development engineers and other partner teams and analyze large data sets prove and disprove hypothesis automate existing solutions and build selfservice dashboards and reports.
Key job responsibilities
Design develop and maintain scaled automated userfriendly systems reports dashboards etc. that will support our analytical and business needs for customer promise and operations.
Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions that will help us achieve our strategic goals.
Write high quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables and learn and understand a broad range of Amazons data resources and know how when and which to use and which not to use.
Develop queries and visualizations for adhoc requests and projects as well as ongoing reporting.
3 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R SAS and Matlab
Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2 DynamoDB S3 and Redshift
Experience in data mining ETL etc. and using databases in a business environment with largescale complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
